Work

The stories, and what they did.

Every project below started with the same question I ask every client... what's the story you're trying to tell? So each one is built around it: the story they needed to tell, what I made, and what it did.

Rebrand · Humana

LifeSynch... the story of expertise you can trust

Full case study →

The story to tell
Corphealth was becoming LifeSynch, the behavioral health and wellness division of Humana... one of the largest healthcare companies in North America... and needed to say two things at once: "we belong to a name you already trust," and "we're our own kind of expert."
What I made
A complete rebrand, end to end... a logo that borrowed the parent company's colors and "tab" for consistency while carrying its own sense of energy and wellbeing, plus brand standards, the website, and all the marketing material. For a crowded tradeshow table, a z-fold capabilities brochure that spells EXPERT when closed and opens to reveal everything they do. And behind the scenes, a procurement system that made ordering standardized and customizable printed member materials simple across the organization.
What it did
A cohesive brand rolled out across the organization, a newsletter distributed to 11,000+ providers nationwide, and a capabilities brochure that's drawn nearly 20,000 views—with the full project gallery hosted here.
Marketing programs · Steelcase

Steelcase dealer... the story of a program worth copying

The story to tell
As marketing manager for one of North America's most influential Steelcase dealers, I had good local marketing ideas... and needed to turn them into programs polished and repeatable enough that a global brand would want to use them.
What I made
Two full marketing programs, end to end... the brand, the collateral, and the proposal and presentation systems behind them... developed in step with a national Steelcase community of practice.
What it did
Both programs were adopted and rolled out by Steelcase worldwide. Local work that scaled to a global brand.
Identity · Packaging · Web

Damien Bash... the story of restraint as luxury

The story to tell
A high-end fragrance and candle house needed a brand as considered as the product... one that whispered rather than shouted, and looked as refined as anything on a European perfume counter.
What I made
An ultramodern, deliberately restrained identity and full brand system... logo, marketing materials, packaging, and website... executed to exacting specifications and kept consistent across every surface.
What it did
The brand became widely known across Europe, with the fragrances and candles named editors' picks in German Vogue, Russian Vogue, i-D, Elle, Cosmopolitan, and Petra.
Identity · Rename

Timesavers... the story hiding in the name

Full case study →

The story to tell
A full-service mail house had a real edge... superior list proofing that delivers bulk mail at higher-than-average rates, saving clients time and money... but a name and logo that said none of it.
What I made
The original identity in 2007, then a 2012 redesign that sharpened the mark and shortened the name from "Timesavers Data / All Precision Mail" to simply Timesavers... the benefit, said out loud.
What it did
A cleaner, sharper brand pointed straight at what makes the business valuable.
AI products · Web

AI-era web & knowledge products... practicing what I preach

The story to tell
My own ventures needed to prove that expertise doesn't have to sit still on a page... it can answer, adapt, and work around the clock.
What I made
The brand and web presence for Scriptus and its live AI companions... Ask Marcus Aurelius, Ask Nietzsche, and a free companion for my book... all AI-accelerated, static, and fast.
What it did
Live, revenue-generating AI products and a set of modern sites that show what AI-accelerated web work looks like when a designer, not a template, is driving.

Print · Neiman Marcus

Chanel and Neiman Marcus magazine work

Featured in Harper's Bazaar (January 2011) and other luxury titles. I composited and retouched campaign photography... balancing opposing spreads, extending product areas without breaking background continuity, and placing captions, headlines, and logos for two esteemed brands.
